Sempat hadir dalam duel matchday 2 penyisihan Grup C Liga Champions dimana Atletico Madrid tunduk 1-2 oleh armada Antonio Conte, pemain berusia 28 tahun itu tetap berhasrat menumpahkan kata-kata perpisahan di akun media sosial pribadinya.

"Beberapa siklus dimulai, sementara yang lain berakhir. Siklus saya di Chelsea dimulai tiga tahun lalu, tiga tahun yang luar biasa dalam semua aspek dan saya tidak akan pernah melupakannya," tulis Costa membuka caption postingannya bergambar dirinya mencium trofi Premier League berseragam Chelsea.

"Penggemar yang luar biasa dari klub yang sama-sama mengagumkan dan semua rekan setimnya, serta semua staf medis, administrasi dan logistik akan tetap selamanya berada di dalam pikiran dan di hatiku," lanjutnya.

Dois títulos de campeão, uma Supertaça Inglesa, 120 jogos, 59 golos e 24 assistências depois este ciclo encerra. Não da forma que desejava (longe disso), mas da forma possível. Na memória e no coração ficarão para sempre os maravilhosos adeptos de um grande clube e todos os companheiros com quem partilhei o balneário, bem como todo o staff logístico, administrativo e clínico. Levo-os comigo com a certeza de que sempre irei estar ao seu lado da mesma forma que, acredito, eles entenderão a razão pela qual este meu ciclo teve de chegar agora ao fim.
