Exports in February Worth US$11.2 Bn

VIVAnews - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) mentioned that the Indonesian exports in February reached US$11.2 billion in value, a decrease by 3.37 percent compared to January 2010. Yet, it was an increase by 57.05 percent compared to February of last year.

"The drop by 3.37 percent in February compared to January 2010 is called cycle," said BPS Head Rusman Heriawan today, April 1.

According to him, the cycle has been observed since 2006.
 
He went on to say that the exports in February of 57 percent was due to lowest point of exports in the same period of 2009.
 
Rusman said the low exports in 2009 were affected by the global economic downturn.
 
He stated that the fall in non-oil and gas exports of mineral fuel worth US$458.7 million.
 
Japan, China, and the United States are still the top countries of exports contributing value to US$1.07 billion, US$986.2 million, and US$907.3 million respectively.
