Defendant of Fraud Case Takes Mayor Office

VIVAnews - A defendant in a corruption case, Jefferson Soleiman Montesqieu Rumanjar, was officially taken into mayor office in Tomohon, South Sulawesi, this morning. The inauguration was carried out by Governor of North Sulawesi, Sinyo Hari Sarundajang on January 7, 2011.

Officers from the antigraft commission KPK witnessed the event so as to prevent the accused from running away.

Jefferson has been named suspect until July 2010 for allegedly involving in Tomohon Provincial Budget fraud of 2006-2008.

The KPK believed that Jefferson distributed the Provincial State Budget as false social aid. By virtue of the vice, the government has to experience Rp 19.8 billion of losses.
