VIVAnews - Mount Lokon near the city of Tomohon in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, saw another eruption today, spewing thick fog into the air at 400-500 meters of height.

"The eruption took place at 1.15 PM local time," said Chief of Geological Disaster Mitigation and Volcanology Center, Surono, today, July 12.

He said the eruptions will continue to occur although it only affects the surrounding areas. "It is only the locals who are affected by the volcanic ashes," said Surono.

The nearest homes on the foothills are situated 3.5 kilometers off the mountain's peak. Despite the possible risks, the inhabitans are refused to be evacuated.

"Before any of its eruptions reaches its climax, the locals must leave their homes," said Surono.
