VIVAnews - National Statistics Agency (BPS) figures that year-end inflation rate may hit as low as 4.42 percent as long as the government has excellent control of rice supply.

Deputy of Distribution and Service Statistics, Djamal, said should rice supply is under control, the next inflation rate will resemble one of October.

He said last year's inflation rate in November and December hit 0.6 percent and 0.92 percent respectively. If the percentage remains, "the 2011 inflation will touch 4.42 percent."

Earlier, the statistics agency recorded that the October inflation was -0.12 percent, which was deemed deflation.

The calendar year inflation was 2.85 percent, while the year-on-year inflation reached 4.42 percent.
