VIVAnews - Coordinating Minister for Political, Justice and Security Affairs, Djoko Suyanto, denied the report presented three months earlier by the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) informing about possible treason in Papua.

"I've just met the Chief of BIN. No words were out on the issue," said Djoko.

He said the Papua unrest took place in three places namely Jayapura, Timika, and Mulia.

As regards the Papuan People's Congress, Djoko said it only tended to discuss development issues in the area. He had attended the congress once. "I was invited to speak to the forum. No permit was required to be there. They tought that it's important for Papua to grow," he said.

"If the congress decided to declare independence, separate Papua from Indonesia, and disclaim Indonesia, what would you call it?"

Police and Human Rights National Commission are looking into the post-congress unrest which claimed lives.
