Supreme Court Pockets 14 Graft Acquittals

VIVAnews - Supreme Court Chief of Special Cases, Djoko Sarwoko, said he is against the idea on Anti-corruption court dismissal.

"If the anti-corruption courts are removed, how will we deal with corruptors?" Djoko said, today. 

Up until today, the Supreme Court has received reports of five acquittals from Surabaya, four acquittals in Samarinda, three from Bandung and two from Lampung. "Several acquittals are however deemed appropriate," he said.

Djoko said all judges of Indonesia's anti-corruption courts have been urged to avoid giving acquittals.

"I've warned the judges to do their best to help eradicate corruption," he said.
