Telkom to Put Optical Fiber Project in Bid

VIVAnews - State-run telecommunication company PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk is putting in a bid optical fiber cable project of Manado-Papua worth Rp 1.5 trillion (US$163.3 million).   

"The bid is made ready. The project will be completed in 2014," said Telkom Head of Corporate Communications, Eddy Kurnia, in Jakarta. 

Eddy said the development of Bali-Nusa Tenggara ring which spans 1,490 kilometers is whole. This year, the project will be on the Sulawesi ring which connects Manado and Papua and spans 5,693 kilometers. 

The Nusantara Super Highway project consists of six rings which link various islands across Indonesia. The Sumatra ring spans 6,891 kilometers; Java, 8,178 kilometers; Kalimantan, 4,293 kilometers; Sulawesi, 5,422 kilometers; Bali and Nusa Tenggara, 1,490 kilometers. 

The infrastructure project will require Rp21.19 trillion worth of fund, targeting more areas in eastern Indonesia.
