VIVAnews – Prosecutors charged Nunun Nurbaetie with four years of imprisonment. Moreover, the prosecutors also called for the Anti-Corruption Court to impose a fine upon her with Rp200 million.
In charges, the prosecutors chaired by M Rum said Nunun proved guilty of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) b of the Anti-Corruption Law on bribery.
“The defendant proves to have awarded state officials, members of Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR), during the election of the Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia in 2004,” said M Rum.
Moreover, the prosecutors deemed the facts on the meeting between Miranda Swaray Goeltom and members of the House – facilitated by the defendant – prior to the feasibility test of the Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia in 2004, then followed by the issuance of travelers’ checks, as a form of collusion and dishonesty.
“There was an agreement to provide certain facilities as a way to ease the affair.”
The prosecutors rebutted Nunun’s denial of the distribution of the travelers’ checks to members of the House. The Anti-Corruption Court judges were requested not to consider the defendant’s statement due to lack of evidence.
Meanwhile, a number of witnesses said that the order to distribute the checks came from Nunun Nurbaetie. One of the witnesses is Nunun’s trusted person in PT Wahana Eka Sejati, Ari Malang Judo.
In the indictment, Nunun Nurbetie Daradjatun as the Commissioner of PT Wahana Eka Sejati is proven to have promised or awarded BII’s travelers checks worth Rp20.8 billion to members of Commission IX of the House of Representatives 1999-2004 in relation with the election of Miranda Swaray Goeltom as the Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia in 2004.
