Yudhoyono Refuses Single Candidate

VIVAnews - The newly formed coalition, Teuku Umar group, threatens that it will not propose for any presidential candidate if the Elections Commission is yet to settle the problem occurred during the legislative Elections concerning mainly with issues on the final voters list. Presidential candidate from the Democratic Party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono may become a single candidate.

Yudhoyono said he denies the single candidate theory because, "Many figures are appropriate for the competition. I give my respect to all of them," said Yudhoyono. 

Earlier, the 'Teuku Umar Coalition' claimed that they would boycott the Presidential elections. The coalition also declares that they will not propose for any presidential candidate. In fact, the coalition has gained 20 percent of valid national votes, the condition for proposing a presidential candidate.

Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Pramono Agung said the decision will be taken if the problems during the 2009 Elections is yet to be completed.
