Egypt is an interesting country to visit with some of the most interesting historical places on the planet and a charming destination.

Many people admit, the ancient Egyptians often did strange and crazy things that are not done in today's era. Here are some insane and cool facts about Ancient Egypt that are interesting to know.

1. The Used Bag of Rat Bones for Bedwetting

The ancient Egyptians used a bag of these rat bones tied around their necks to cure bedwetting. The exact reason why they do this is not yet known, the obvious reason was to scare people who wet their bed.

2. Ancient Egyptian Men Wear Makeup

As known, the use of make-up on men has occurred in ancient Egypt. Usually, they used green or black eye paint.

The makeup serves both practical and ritual purposes. It is thought to protect the eyes from the sun, repel flies, and ward off infection. Dramatic makeup also mimics the facial markings of the sun god Horus.

 They didn't play games like Monopoly or Cluedo, but games which used early versions of dice and were based on chance. One game was called Senet and very similar to chess.

4. The Mummification Process Needs a Lot of Bandages

The mummification process will use a 1500-meter-long thin cloth. Between the many layers, the priest will place small gems and items to help them in the next life.

5. Using a Fake Beard

Hatshepsut was an Egyptian pharaoh and it turned out that Hatshepsut was a woman. The problem was that female pharaohs were not always taken seriously. So, she decided to do something about it.

The surviving statues of Hatshepsut show her a long beard in the ancient Egyptian style. Although she may not wear it all the time, the beard helps her look more like an ancient Egyptian god.

6. Egyptians Take Sour Milk Baths

They do this because they believe it helps their skin. It's not like anyone would drink it.

7. Moldy Bread Used to Treat Wounds

Sounds disgusting, but it's true. The bacteria in the fungus will act as an antibiotic and heal the wound.

8. Egyptians Lipstick Made of Insects

It turns out that in Egypt, lipstick was made from crushed insects. Red carminic acid extracted from cochineal or insects is used as a makeup component.

However, modern women, unlike Cleopatra, do not need to extract carmine dye to produce makeup. To apply lipstick, they do not have to boil and crush insects.

9. Pharaoh Suffered from Obesity

Scientists have performed X-Ray analysis on the mummies and concluded that the ancient Egyptians especially the Pharaohs were not as healthy and fit as people are known.

Pharaoh, actually fat and unhealthy. Their food was full of carbohydrates and saturated fat and alcohol contributes to obesity and health problems.

10. 95 Percent of Egyptians Live Along the Nile
