Anindya Bakrie Receives IWAPI 2022 Award

VIVA – CEO, President Director of PT Bakrie & Brothers, Tbk and President Director of PT Visi Media Asia, Tbk, Anindya Novyan Bakrie won the 2022 Indonesian Businesswomen Association (IWAPI) award in the field of Technology and Information. The award was presented directly by the Chairwoman of the DPP IWAPI AWEN Chairwoman, Nita Yudi on November 22, 2022.
The award handover was held at TvOne Studio, The Convergence Indonesia Building. This award is the first time organized by IWAPI and there will be a next IWAPI Award.
"IWAPI just held the first time for sustainability. So, next year there will be another IWAPI awards, where this year because we feel that PD was chosen by the government to be the focal point of AWEN. It means that our consistency, existence, and commitment are seen by the government." Nita Yudi explained on November 22, 2022, in South Jakarta.
"For that reason, we will now give it to public figures who are very concerned about women's empowerment," she added.
According to Nita Yudi, Anindya Bakrie is an inspiring person as can be seen in his experience in the Indonesian economy. It makes Anindya Bakrie worthy of the award.
"Mr. Anin is truly extraordinary, inspiring, and encouraging IWAPI. He’s often present at IWAPI events, and very, very qualified for us to give. Well, we can see Mr. Anin’s progress and actions in the Indonesian economy," Nita Yudi explained.
Anindya Bakrie felt grateful for this award, he said that the majority of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) leaders are women and their actions are getting bigger.
"This is an award that makes me honored, but also encouraged to follow that indeed women are getting bigger and bigger. Not only as housewives but also in the business world. In fact, most of the majority of MSMEs are female leaders," Anindya Bakrie remarked.
"Because women are usually more careful in their business. They say money can come in, but it can't go out. That indicates that they are more careful and the money is returned to the family, business, and the environment," he added.
Moreover, Nita Yudi also said that women play an important role in the economy.
"Women are significant in the role of the economy because we can see the number of women MSMEs is 60 percent of the number of MSMEs throughout Indonesia. It means that this economy is driven by women entrepreneurs," Nita Yudi remarked.
Furthermore, Anindya Bakrie will begin to focus on thinking about services and products for women and make women's MSMEs the basis.
"I think how to involve more women in the management of the Bakrie group, and how to also think more about services and products for women, and also partner with MSMEs and women's MSMEs as a base," Anindya Bakrie explained.
