Jakarta – Batik is not only a cultural treasure of Indonesia that has been recognized worldwide, but also a legacy of creativity in the traditional textile industry. This was revealed by Anindya Novyan Bakrie as President Director of Bakrie & Brothers. 

"Batik is not only a cultural treasure of Indonesia that has been recognized worldwide, but also a legacy of creativity in the traditional textile industry," Bakrie wrote through his official Instagram account, on the day of the National Batik celebration, October 2, 2023.

According to Bakrie, batik has great potential in the creative industry because it is favored by local and foreign people. 

"In addition, batik also has great potential in advancing the national creative industry, with various innovations and creations that continue to be developed," 

Anindya Bakrie also revealed that he loves to wear Batik, "I love and often wear batik because apart from giving pride to our cultural heritage, it also adds a touch of elegance and charisma to the appearance," 

He also said: "If using batik, our handsomeness will increase more and more. It may give its pride to people who wear it,"

Moreover, Bakrie also expressed his prayers and hopes for the batik development in Indonesia, "Hopefully, batik can continue to be worn proudly and become an Indonesian cultural wealth symbol. Happy National Batik Day," 

As information, Indonesian batik was added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list in 2009 and has been internationally recognized as a historical fabric of human civilization. 

It is thought to be over 1,000 years old, with historical evidence pointing to its use in parts of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
