Jakarta – Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) revealed that Whoosh passengers increase during Eid al-Fitr holiday, especially departures from Halim Station to Padalarang or Tegalluar Station.

The General Manager Corporate Secretary of KCIC, Eva Chairunisa stated that the increase in the number of passengers was due to post-visiting family gatherings, as passengers began to utilize Whoosh for tourism and vacation purposes to Bandung and its surroundings.

"The increase has been evident since Wednesday and Thursday, with many passengers immediately using Whoosh. Some are even traveling today to spend the Eid al-Fitr holiday and collective leave," Chairunisa said in a statement on Thursday.

KCIC has anticipated this increase by adding 12 trips per day until April 18, 2024. Based on observations, during peak hours and favored routes such as Halim departures on Thursday (Apr 11), departures starting from 7:55 a.m, 8:20 a.m., until 12 p.m. were crowded with passengers.

"The occupancy rate during these peak hours reaches 80 to 95 percent. Ticket sales for April 12 also showed a significant increase, with peak hours already reaching 85 percent," she remarked.

"With 52 trips per day, passengers choose Whoosh to fulfill their needs. The headway between busy-hour schedules is 25 to 30 minutes, providing passengers with high flexibility," she added.

Chairunisa urged passengers to follow regulations regarding their baggage to ensure the comfort of all passengers.

She emphasized that each passenger can only carry up to three pieces of luggage with a maximum dimension of 100cm x 30cm x 40 cm and a maximum total weight of 20 kg.

These three items can consist of two suitcases or boxes and one backpack or handbag.

"Passengers are also prohibited from carrying animals, narcotics, firearms and sharp objects, easily flammable items, items with sharp odors, and items prohibited by officials and regulations," she concluded.
