VIVAnews - Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said Indonesia will not deal with serious military threats in mid-term period especially in the borders.
The country will in the future be prone to nonmilitary challenges in realms of ideology, politics, the economy, social issues, and culture. However, the ministry will still be ready to anticipate any issue concerning any of the above. "We'll be ready to help," he said on Tuesday, Jan 12.
He believed that military threats from abroad may shock the country at any time, though.
Therefore, the Indonesian Military never stops sharpen the force. "If there is indeed a threat, we'll prepare either military or nonmilitart operations," he said.
Huge amount of budget is required to build powerful force. Given the matter, the Ministry of Defense and the Indonesian Military will multiply the budget for updating its weaponry system.
