VIVAnews - Ministry of State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) has okayed the synergy plan between Flexi, owned by state telecommunication company PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, and Esia of PT Bakrie Telecom.
"The ministry didn't give any direction," said SOEs Minister Mustafa Abubakar in Jakarta today, June 9.
Mustafa then gave a figure on the number of Flexi's customers of 15 million and Bakrie Telecom's at 10-12 million. "If the two groups merge, it would be easier for them to grow," he said.
Therefore, he expected that both parties can formulate the perfect form of synergy.
He explained that Telkom has prepared the fund to materialize the synergy. "I'm not sure about the total fund prepared [for the synergy]," he said.
Earlier, Telekomunikasi Indonesia learned the possibility of taking the best business solution for its CDMA division.
"We're still weighing whether to merge or to acquire [the company]," said Telkom President Director, Rinaldi Firmansyah, on Monday, June 7.
