VIVAnews - During the fasting month of Ramadhan, consumption rate will hike especially when the time to eat sahur and to break fast comes.
Along the said month, the volume of garbage in the Indonesian capital is estimated to climb 10 percent.
Chief of garbage management of East Jakarta, Uhu Nurdin, said special preparation to organize garbage in the Ramadhan is not set up.
"People should take their trash to the nearest garbage dump," he said today in Jakarta, August 12.
There are around 30 garbage dumps in East Jakarta, each of which can accommodate 30 cubic meter of garbage.
The city administration has readied 158 units of garbage trucks to transport the collected trash to Bantargebang landfill in Bekasi, West Java.
Unfortunately, among the 136 trucks are those that have been operating for more than 16 years.
Third-party waste management is assigned to help carry the garbage to Bantargebang landfill.
