VIVAnews - PT Singaraja Santika Sport, the producer of Triple S soccer ball, exported one million balls to the entire world. The company recorded an increase in sales due to the 2010 World Cup in June-July 2010.

Singaraja Santika Sport Director of Production, Jefry Romdhoni, said the ball production doubled this year from 500 thousand items in 2009 to one million in 2010.

"We earned the highest exports this year coincidentally. The destination countries include Africa, Brazil, Japan and other European nations. Africa was the number one importer," said Jefry in Jakarta, August 18.

According to Jefry, demand on balls increased six months prior to the FIFA World Cup. A ball is tagged between US$3.5 and US$7. As for domestic market, the prices ranging to Rp 50,000 to Rp 150,000 per item. The composition between domestic and foreign markets is 90 percent against 10 percent.

He explained that based on data from FIFA, the need for balls worldwide reaches 250 thousand balls per day. The Singaraja-made balls are FIFA-licensed, certifying their qualities among other top ball producers.
