Human Rights Commission Look into Murder Case

VIVAnews - The national commission on human rights set up a team to investigate the death of a TV journalist in Merauke, Papua, Ardiansyah, who was allegedly murdered some weeks ago. The team consists of six persons from the human rights commission of Jakarta and Papua.

"There are six other team members that will be deployed to Merauke to look into the death," said Deputy Head of Papua Commission on Human Rights, Matius Murib, today, August 24.

In addition to probing into the case, the team will also try to find the mastermind behind the terror acts against journalists in Merauke.

"Acts of terror faced by a number of journalists in Merauke are included in our list of investigation," he said.

The joint investigation team plans to visit Merauke within the short while.

Ardiansyah Matra'i, TV Merauke journalist, was found dead in Maro, Gudang Arang, Tujuwale bridge, Merauke. A trace of violent acts was apparent on his body.
