VIVAnews - The Indonesian government recognizes the chance for supplying fuel to China. "The country records high annual volume of fuel imports," said Minister of State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) Mustafa Abubakar in Beijing, China, yesterday, Oct 20, after signing on with Indonesian Vice President Boediono and Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao. Annual fuel imports in the country reach one billion tons. "This is a great potency to expand to its oil and gas market."
Apart from the oil industry, the Chinese government also prepares a partnership agreement on defense affairs particularly regarding weaponry system production in Indonesia. Mustafa said the government welcomes the idea by making possible the commence of other strategic industries like shipping and mining.
"[China] claims that the partnership will include military training. Then we're opening links to other strategic industries in addition to undersea power cables and coal mining," said Mustafa.
During the meeting, an agreement between PT Dok dan Perkapalan, Surabaya, and Tractebel Gas Engineering as well as Shanghai Odely Marine Engineer Co Ltd was signed.
The second agreement involves Indonesian shipyard company PT Daya Radar Utama and largest China-based shipyard Jiangsu Eastern Heavy Industry Co Ltd.
