VIVAnews - Former state electricity company PLN General Manager, Budi Harsono, was sentenced six years of imprisionment for committing corruption on IT-based information management system in Lampung.

"The convict was found committing corruption," said Chief Judge, Jupriadi, today, Jan 4. The convict is also obligated to pay fine worth Rp 300 million.

Budi proves drawing in on the appointment of PT Altelindo as PLN's partner in the information management system.

Public Prosecutor, KMS Roni, during the previous court sessions explained that Budi had called upon Georgie Kumaat, Managing Director of PT Altelindo, "to prepare the procurement documents."

The appointment was based on an MoU signed by Budi Harsono, Georgie Kumaat and former GM of East Java PLN, which is against the decision taken by PLN's Board of Directors. It was clear to PLN that Altelindo handed over the projects to other companies like PT Prima Mitra Solusi, PT Multipolar, PT Kopegtel, PT Lintas Arta and PT Ipwan.

In addition, Budi was charged of having received money from Georgie Kumaat worth Rp 3.4 billion in phases between 2004 and 2008.

However, the board of judges said in a verdict that Budi was not proven accepting the money.
