VIVANews - The Indonesian government will not modify prices subsidized fuel of Premium and diesel despite soaring crude oil prices.
Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Evita Herawati Legowo said the government will not adjust the macro assumption.
Today, the Indonesia Crude Price (ICP) has touched US$91.37 per barrel. However, she said, the average price per year has yet to reach US$88 per barrel. "This is still far from the macro assumption of US$80 per barrel," said Evita in Jakarta today, Jan 6, 2011.
According to Evita, the government may increase subsidized fuel prices if the ICP has exceeded 10 percent of the macro assumption. Earlier, the Indonesia crude price hit US$91.37, US$6.30 higher than the November price at US$85.07 per barrel.
Subsidized fuel prices are now still tagged at Rp 4,500 per liter.
