VIVAnews - The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights still weighs on the prisoner exchange issue as four countries have proposed for exchange of inmates involving their citizens in Indonesia.
"Australia, Hong Kong, Iran and Brazil have sent in the proposal to us," said Justice and Human Rights Minister, Patrialis Akbar, today, Jan 17.
According to Patrialis, the ministry still puts much concerns over prisoner exchange because the country has yet to have Law on Prisoner Exchange in place.
The issue surfaced last week as Australia wanted Indonesia to switch prisoners between the two countries.
Australia expects Indonesia could exchange 500 Indonesian prisoners imprisoned there with Australian prisoners in the archipelago.
