Heirs of Merapi Victims Given Rp1.7 Bn

VIVAnews - Heirs of the victims from Mt Merapi eruptions today receive compensation worth Rp1.7 billion in total.

Chief of Manpower and Social Affairs Agency of Sleman Regency, Kriswanto, said every victims' family will obtain Rp6 million .

"The provincial government gives Rp2 million while the Social Affairs Ministry grants Rp4 million," he told VIVAnews.

The compensation is aimed at those heirs whose family members were killed by the Mt Merapi eruptions, affected by cold lava flows, and were deceased in refugee camps.
