VIVAnews - The Indonesian government attempts to speed up the development of five mass transport projects, few of which are under intense development.

The first idea is to proceed with the construction plan of steam-based electricity trains across Java. "We for example can build railways along Anyer and Panarukan," said Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Hatta Rajasa, today, Feb 14.

The government also plans to redesign the monorail project, which will exclude Japan in the partnership.

The redesigning project will be completed within the coming two months under the cooperation with the Jakarta administration.

The national circle-line project aiming at railway system will be potential for future development. The government will collaborate with state-owned developers such as PT Wijaya Karya Tbk, PT PP Tbk, and PT Kereta Api Indonesia to promote the circle-line project. The state-owned developers are ready to finance the project to Rp6 trillion.

As regards mass rapid transit, Hatta said more feeders will in no time help solve passenger distribution to northern areas of Jakarta.

Moreover, the government also prepares plot to build up mass transport system through Soekarno-Hatta Airport. "There will be special trains to carry passengers from Manggarai to Soekarno-Hatta and vice versa," he said.
