Indonesia to Evacuate its Citizens from Libya

VIVAnews -- Indonesia is preparing to evacuate all 875 of its citizens believed to be in Libya. As many as 253 of the expected total have been flown to Tunisia on Sunday, Feb 27. For the time being, second phase evacuation is being scheduled by the Indonesian government.

"There is ongoing process of gathering our people in Libya. 100 Indonesians are managed to be listed yesterday. Should there be 200 persons attached on the list, we'll be sending them home," spokesperson of Indonesia Foreign Affairs Minister, Kusuma Habir, told VIVAnews today, Feb 28.

Adopting the method implemented in earlier evacuation process, the said Indonesians will be temporarily located in Tunisia prior to being transfered to Indonesia.

Of the alleged number of 875 Indonesian citizens, 550 of them work in formal sector, 130 Indonesians are studying in different universities, while the remaining others work in informal sector.

Menurut Direktur Bina Haji PHU Arsad Hidayat, jemaah haji diminta tidak asal membagikan informasi yang beredar di media sosial yang belum jelas kebenarannya.
