AirAsia to Launch New Routes

VIVAnews - Budget airliner PT Indonesia AirAsia will launch new routes to Darwin, Australia, and China. The Darwin route is set to enable flights for Australians willing to travel to Indonesia, mainly Bali. "Australia is our main priority," said AirAsia Managing Director, Dharmadi, in Jakarta today, March 3.

He said that more international flights will be made through Surabaya.

"It is common for Australian travelers to follow through their journey to such northern areas as Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong and Mainland China," said Dharmadi.

Data from Bali Tourism Board shows that the number of foreign tourists to Bali between January and September 2010 reached 1,919,126 including 157,009 of Chinese.

The China route will be ready in 2012.
