Banks Ready to Announce Prime Lending Rates

VIVAnews - Bank Indonesia earlier announced new regulation which obligates banks with Rp 10 trillion worth of assets release their prime lending rates to the media. As a response, banks agreed to write up the rates by March 31.

PT Bank Mandiri Director of Treasury Financial Institutions and Special Asset Management, Thomas Arifin, said Bank Mandiri will in no time issue its lending rate on the company's webpage.

Deputy Managing Director of PT Bank CIMB Niaga, Catherine Hadiman, said Bank Niaga now prepares of making up reports on the said issue. "The rates are varied ranging to between 11 and 12 percent. As for microfinance rates, they are indeed set at as high as 20 percent," he said.

Bank Indonesia stated the designated types of rates are aimed at corporate credit, retail credit and consumer credit (home loans and non-home loans).
