VIVAnews - The National Narcotics Board (BNN) puts Chief of Nusakambangan Narcotics Penitentiary, Marwan Adli, into custody.
"Our investigation reveals that there were transactions in January," said BNN spokesperson, Sumirat, today, March 9.
The detainment is carried out following the probes into another suspect named Hartoni. "We believe that there are flows of funds to Pak Marwan," he said. Hartoni is a narcotics convict serving his years in Nusakambangan Prison.
As reported earlier, Marwan was detained as of Tuesday, March 8, under accusations of narcotics dealing in Nusakambangan Prison.
Directorate General of Correctional Facilities has surrendered the case to BNN. The directorate's spokesperson, Hadi Prabowo, said of February 21, that a package which had aroused officers' suspicion was sent to Nusakambangan Prison. Despite the vague intended recipient of the package, an officer was later acknowledged that the package should have been addressed to him.
Afterwards, it was assumed that the package contained meth.
"Thorough investigation was set out. We questioned every officer and inmate in the Prison," said Akbar.
Some individuals out of the 1,100 inmates and 300 officers were listed as being linked to the case. "127 inmates and 11 officers were found involving in the case," said Akbar.
