VIVAnews - Terrorist suspect Imron Baihaqi a.k.a Abu Tholut a.k.a Musthofa admitted of receiving Rp 140 million for making possible weapon supply to a paramilitary training camp in Aceh.
The statement was presented through a teleconference in a court session on terrorism which involves terrorist defendant Abu Bakar Baashir. "I've never proposed for help. Yet, I got the money. First off was from Ubaid, which gave me Rp 40 million, and the second one was from Abdul Haris at Rp 100 million," said Abu Tholut.
He said he spared half of the Rp 40 million to Dulmatin and Rp 10 million to Abdullah Sonata. "I had the remaining Rp 10 million for a recruiting duty in Pulogadung and Kampung Melayu. Dulmatin contacted me when I was in Kampung Melayu to inform me about someone named Abdullah Sonata."
According to Abu Tholut, the money he gave Abdullah Sonata was then used to purchase a pistol, which later was handed over to Wardi.
The Rp 100 million was allocated for different purposes. A AR-15 rifle and bullets required Rp 22.5 million; an automatic Belgium-made gun was worth Rp 15 million. On the other hand, they needed Rp 10 million for a rent room in Tegal, Central Java, and Rp 20 million was used to pay downpayment of a Xenia car. "The remaining fund was used to rent a house in Bekasi."
They afterwards put the car to lease to gain more money.
However, Abu Tholut said he never wrote report to, or met with, Abu Bakar Baashir in person. "I'm not a Ngruki man. I'd never talked about things in details," he said.
Baashir was charged with financing terrorist trainings in Aceh. In addition, he was also blamed for planning and persuading people to commit terrorist attacks.
