VIVAnews - Japan has been one of Indonesia's top export destination countries. Following the earthquake and tsunami which crippled the north-eastern and eastern coasts of Japan, there is growing concern that Indonesia's exports will be affected by the disaster.

"We're positive about the growth of Indonesia's economy," said BNP Paribas Investment Partners Investment Specialist, Johan Sidik, in Jakarta today.

Johan believes the growth of Indonesia's economy will be boosted by the strong domestic consumption following the upturn of global economy.

Regional markets have fallen in wake of Japan's tragedy. However, the Indonesian market still maintains its sound position, "mainly on credit growth, infrastructure expenditures and rise in commodities' prices."

He said that the index of Indonesia's stock and bond markets have each dropped two percent and 0.13 percent respectively within three days after the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan.
