VIVAnews - Highly radioactive water has leaked from a reactor at Japan's crippled nuclear complex in Fukushima. The government of Japan has announced advisory ban on fish consumption within 30 kilometers radius of the site. Philippines, South Korea and China detected a tiny scale of radiation in their territories.

Indonesian Fisheries and Maritime Affairs Minister, Fadel Muhammad, assures that Indonesian waters is free from the radiation, enabling fish products from Indonesia to be consumed safely.

"We have looked into the matter. The radiation has yet to pollute our waters," said Fadel.

"We've set out close check and control over our food. The Ministry of Health said no radiation has been found," he said.

Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih said Japan carefully inspects its exported fish. "They don't sell fishes that have been contaminated by nuclear radiation," she said.
