VIVAnews - Following the suicide bombing which targeted a police mosque in Cirebon, West Java, today, a terrorist observer Al Chaidar said it is most unlikely for picking up the city as bombing point. "It is most probably that they choose random bombing targets deliberately so as to show everyone that tracing them is almost impossible," he told VIVAnews on Friday.
Chaidar pointed out the recent mail bombing earlier in Jakarta. "They are beginning to expand," he said.
Al Chaidar stated that Cirebon is in fact not a common base of terrorists. However, he claimed massive recruitments have been carried out lately around Cirebon, Indramayu, Brebes and Bandung. "This is weird, as the city is not their traditional base. After the bombing occurred, I only recognized the possible motive," he said.
In his opinion, the newly-recruited terrorists designed bombings that are set to produce terror in the recruitment cities. "Indramayu, Brebes and Bandung must be more aware of the possibilities," he said.
Moreover, he said, "Police are their local targets."
Last week, the Australian administrations have issued warnings about future terrorist attacks which may take place in Indonesia following arrest of number one terrorist fugitive Umar Patek in Pakistan some weeks earlier.
Chaidar said he believed the Cirebon bombing was perpetrated by the established cell. "It's Abu Tholut's link, which used to recruiting [bombers] in several cities."
