VIVAnews - Abbas Kasirin, an Iranian, alleged mastermind of narcotics distribution in Nusakambangan Prison, Indonesia, was arrested in Bangkok three weeks ago. Abbas has been listed as the most wanted drugs dealer by the Indonesian Police.
Acting Head of the National Narcotics Board, Comm. Gen. Gories Mere, said Abbas was in position to control the operation of narcotics links. "[He deals with] both money laundering and huge amount of narcotics distribution on either daily or weekly basis from Iran, Bangkok and Indonesia," he said.
Gories said Gories was also involved in various cases in Thailand. "In the US, in fact, he engaged with money laundering worth hundreds of million of US dollar," he said.
Indonesia is the first country worldwide which reported Abbas to the International Drug Enforcement of Far East Asia region. "Afterwards, other countries such as the United States, Thailand and China followed to file claims," he said.
Nonetheless, the last three countries have yet to collect enough evidence to incriminate Abbas.
