6 Magnitude Tremor Hits Indonesia Aceh

VIVAnews - Aceh, a province on the northern tip of Sumatra, Indonesia, was hit by a 6 magnitude earthquake. Based on the information from the Geophysics, Climatology and Meteorology Agency, the temblor took place at 3.56 pm, 63 kilometers southwest of Meulaboh, Aceh, on Friday. 

Meulaboh was one of the hardest-hit areas when huge tremor shook the Indian Ocean and produced fatal tsunami in 2006.

The earthquake occurred at 20 kilometers of depth.

Banda Aceh, situated 200 kilometers off Meulaboh, was also affected by the tremor. Many of its inhabitants fled their homes in an instant.

"The quiver happened twice," a resident in Banda Aceh said.
