VIVAnews - Chief of the Provincial Development Planning Agency of Bali, Tjokorda Ngurah Pemayun, voiced concerns that water crisis may hit Bali by 2015.
The crisis is apparent taking into account high population density and lack of environmental supports.
"We're trying to making a list of investors who are willing to conduct a feasibility study on water distribution in South Bali," he said.
On the other hand, climate change leads to irregular weather shifts globally, including Bali. As a result, it is difficult to predict whether or not rainy season will come in time.
Member of the Indonesian Forum for the Environment of Bali, Ni Nyoman Sri Widhiarti, said Bali now allocates more water channeling to hotels and restaurants. "Tourism industry makes use of more water," she said.
