VIVAnews - Bank Indonesia (BI) decided to maintain its benchmark interest rate BI Rate at 6.75 percent on Thursday.
"The decision is a result of complete assessment over current macroeconomic progress," BI spokesperson Difi A. Johansyah said.
Bank Indonesia said in a statement it will pay more attention to inflation rate.
"The Board of Governors emphasizes the improve in domestic economy which grew by 6.5 percent (year-on-year) during the first quarter of 2011," he said.
BI figured the strong economic growth to continue to the second quarter of 2011.
Difi said exports are expected to back up future growth in addition to the rising investment and more desirable consumption.
