VIVAnews - Volcanology and Geological Disaster Management Center investigates the mysterious boom occurred at Jalan Asia-Afrika, Bandung, West Java, on Saturday.
Chief of Geological Agency at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, R. Sukhyar, claimed the wave was heard at 11.30 PM. "The wave produced quite high a noise. Everyone ran toward a clear space in front of Bank NISP building at Jalan Asia-Afrika," said Sukhyar on Monday.
Bank NISP is situated between Savoy Homann Hotel and Merdeka building, former venue used by leaders across Asia and Africa in mid 1950s to have international meeting.
According to Sukhyar, field investigation showed that no damages were found as a result of the boom.
Earlier, expert on Geological issues at the National Institute of Science, Danny Hilman, said the source of the boom was still unknown. However, he stated that the incident was not an impact of Lembang Fault movements.
