VIVAnews - Top marketing consultant Philip Kotler was assigned the Ambassador of Bali Tourism by the Indonesian Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
"As an Honorary Person of Bali, I'm positive that Prof. Kotler will have ideas on how to promote Bali tourism especially in Denpasar," said Rai Mantra.
Denpasar is the capital of Bali. It is recently put under the spotlight for failing to manage city waste well.
Kotler said he was honored to have the title. "It is exciting to visit such a beautiful and exotic place as Bali," said Kotler.
The man deemed as "The Father of Modern Marketing" believed more serious efforts must be brought forward to preserve and build up the island.
"Tourism must be marketed so that other countries are willing to invest," he said.
He said, "Profit is not the main objective in developing tourism sector. Bali, especially Denpasar, will get more progress in tourism sector if it has enough capital," said Kotler.
