VIVAnews - Governor of East Java, Soekarwo, said the compensation for victims of East Java mudflows will be allocated in the 2012 State Budget, targeting 45 Neighborhood Associations. As for this year, the repayment is only ready to be channeled to nine Neighborhood Associations.
"[Homes of the victims] in nine Neighborhood Associations are totally damaged. Instant compensations are required," said Soekarwo on Monday.
The affected inhabitants demand that the governor urges the Indonesian president revise the instruction which attaches the 45 Neighborhood Associations in the map of affected area.
Soekarwo stated that a meeting with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had been set up. "The president agreed to allocate compensations of which funds will be prepared in the 2012 State Budget," he said.
