VIVAnews - Man behind Temanggung riot, Syihabudin, was today brought before the court at Semarang, Central Java.
During the court session, Syihabudin was proved violating Article 160 of Penal Code on Outrage. Prosecutors said Syihabudin did not provide any denial over all charges.
"I believe that I've been legally injured," he said.
Earlier, the court room had seen tension following prohibition over hundreds of students of Islamic boarding school who were in support of Syihabudin. "What reason did they use? It's an open court. They should've let us in," a student complained.
In the mean time, nine other defendants of the Temanggung riot presented their defense pleas in different sessions. They admitted the damages from the riot was unplanned.
The Temanggung riot took place in February. The uprising was started in front of the court building.
Three churches and several public infrastructures were battered. As many as 25 people were named suspects including Syihabudin.
