VIVAnews - Several malls in Jakarta are offering great sale for many products, from clothes to accessories. Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo tonight officially inaugurated the shopaholics' most-awaited event.
"Tonight the Festival Jakarta Great Sale (FJGS) 2011 was opened by Pak Foke (how Fauzi Bowo is affectionately called)," said Tutum Rahanta, the vice general chairperson of Indonesian Retailers Association (Aprindo) to VIVAnews.
According to Tutum, 68 malls and 50 retail companies would participate in FJGS 2011 and offer discount from 20 to 70 percent. "This event will take place for a month, from June 17 to July 17," said Tutum.
He said that the great sale is aimed at welcoming Jakarta government's agenda of celebrating Jakarta's 484th anniversary on June 22, 2011. "So this event is cooperation between the regional government and mall owners and shopping center's enterpreneurs.
Tutum explained that this large-scaled occasion is also held in some malls in other major cities.
