VIVAnews – The efforts to find a common vision and again prompt the “Beli Indonesia” as a national movement will be realized through th Congress of Indonesian Economic Awakening (KEI), which will be centered at Diamond Solo Convention Center, between June 22 and 26, 2011.
“We must realize ‘Beli Indonesia’ as a national movement, because economically we are subjugated by the domination of foreign products in our country. Therefore we hope that the conference in Solo can be a milestone in our awakening,” said Heppy Trenggono, the initiator of ‘Beli Indonesia’ in his statement.
In addition, the movement is a defense act of the country and an encouragement of brotherhood spirit. “We hope that this movement will be effective in anticipating ACFTA (Asean and China Free Trade Agreement), which has made the domestic industry and home-industry collapsed,” said Heppy.
According to Heppy, there are two main problems of Indonesia, namely character and economy. This is because God has given Indonesia huge capital, starting from large population, strategic location, abundant mineral natural resources and others.
However, this capital has not yet able to empower this country to become great. On the contrary, the country’s wealth is used by other countries for their own glory.
In the mean time, the reason for choosing Solo as the city for the event is because 100 years ago national economic awakening occurred there through Syarikat Dagang Islam (Islamic Trade Union) chaired by Saman Hudi.
