VIVAnews - The National Police team up with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to handle cases of corruption.
"We're working with the KPK to deal with corruption. We don't want to cover up things," said Chief of National Police Crime and Investigation Division, Comm. Gen. Ito Sumardi today.
Ito said the partnership between the National Police and KPK is also meant to deny rumor saying that the police and KPK are in conflict.
In fact, Ito said, KPK spokesperson Johan Budi stated that the National Police was not subject to bribery committed by suspect of corruption, a Democratic Party official, Nazarudin. "The issue is bad for the police's image," he said.
Earlier, Ito was accused of taking bribes from Nazarudin so as to enable the police going in for the case in which KPK was dealing with at that time.
