VIVAnews - Justice and Human Rights Minister Patrialis Akbar said it is the police that have the authority to send former treasurer of Democratic Party, M. Nazaruddin, home to Indonesia.
"It is the duty of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights to trace his whereabouts. We are coordinating with local immigration offices," he said today, July 6.
For the time being, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights has yet to acquire information on his domicile from the Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore.
Patrialis however refused to provide comments over the official statement from the Singapore government saying that Nazaruddin is currently not in the country. "Due to data that we got from our immigration office, he went to Singapore," said Patrialis.
"We learned that Nazar frequently went back and forth Singapore. Isn't it true that he is on medication?"
"We have to show our respect toward the supremacy of each country. As long as it is an official [press] release, we have to recognize it. I am positive that [Singapore] will not produce false information," said Patrialis.
