VIVAnews – The Supreme Court filed complaint against Judicial Commission Deputy Head for Judge Supervision and Investigation, Suparman Marzuki, to National Police HQ Crime and Investigation Division.
The Supreme Court said Marzuki had told the media that one must pay Rp300 million to become a judge. On the other hand, for the position of district court head in Jakarta, one must pay Rp275 million.
Suparman was reported under the charges of defamation, discrediting the authorities of state agencies, making public complaint directly without following procedures.
Supreme Court Head Harifin Andi Tumpa stressed that, “the statement is false, so we hand over this case to the police. Let the legal process decides what is true and false,” said Tumpa in Yogyakarta, Tuesday, July 12, 2011. “If it (the Judicial Commission deputy head’s accusation) is true, why would we report this.”
In the mean time, Judicial Commission Head Erman Suparman said that the commission will provide legal advocacy. The Judicial Commission will follow the legal process of this case.
Earlier, Judicial Commission Deputy Head Imam Anshori Saleh regretted the Supreme Court’s measure of filing a report on one of Judicial Commission commissioners, Suparman Marzuki, at the National Police HQ. “We regretted this. We (with SC) should cooperate well, instead of attacking each other like this,” said Imam, Monday.
According to Imam, Suparman had given the Supreme Court explanation as regards his statement. “Suparman acknowledged not stating what the media wrote. When I asked him, he also said he had used the right to reply for the respective media,” he explained.
Imam also hoped that his party will meet the Supreme Court party for explaining the case clearly and for the Supreme Court to withdraw the report.
