VIVAnews – The Directorate General of Taxes raises the target of the 2011 tax revenue by 3.1 percent to Rp875.7 trillion. The plan is attached in the 2011 Revised State Budget.

Compared to the previous target of Rp877 trillion, the Directorate General of Taxes' proposal is lower. The 2011 State Budget now sets the target at Rp850.3 trillion.

The Directorate General of Taxes said that the targeted revenue comprises state revenue from the Directorate General of Taxes amounting to Rp698.44 trillion, Directorate General of Customs and Excise by Rp115.44 trillion and Oil and Gas Income Tax of Rp63.55 trillion.

However, with the revenue decrease from oil and gas income tax sector by Rp2 trillion due to the depreciating Rupiah exchange rate, the target was then revised.

It was estimated that the increase of 2011 tax revenue is sourced from excise revenue which went up 8.5 percent, oil and gas income tax 14.4 percent and customs Rp0.5 trillion.

Director General of Taxes Fuad Rahmany explained that so far most of the state revenue, or around 70 percent, is acquired from small- and medium-scale enterprises.

“It is the GDP’s good impact on small- and medium-sized enterprises,” said Fuad.
