VIVAnews – Tangerang City Police revealed a methamphetamine trade network controlled by inmates from inside the Nusakambangan penitentiary. The network had been supplying illegal drugs to Bogor, West Java, and other areas outside of Java including West Nusa Tenggara.
“The drug is distributed through outer Java areas and is controlled by a prisoner initialed MC from the Nusakambangan prison,” Tangerang City Police Head, Chief Comm. Tavip Julianto, told VIVAnews on Wednesday, July 13.
According to Tavip, the drug network was disclosed based on the development of a police raid at a meth factory in Puncak area, Bogor, West Java. Earlier, a suspect initialed T was arrested with 2.4 grams of meth a evidence.
Based on T’s testimony, the police developed the case and caught the dealer in Cibubur on Sunday, July 10.
“The suspect admitted that he obtained the drugs directly from a factory run by a man initialed J in Puncak, Bogor,” said Tavip.
In the mean time, the suspect J told the police that he purchased the tools and raw materials for producing meth from someone with initial MC, who is a prisoner in Nusakambangan. “So MC supplied and controlled the distribution of the drugs that J made,” Tavip explained.
In distributing the drugs, MC hired a courier from Bekasi, West Java to carry the raw materials to J. After the production, the drugs were sold in West Nusa Tenggara and Bogor.
