VIVAnews – Two defendants in Bank Century case, Hesyam Al Warouq and Rafat Ali Rizvi, filed a lawsuit against the Indonesian government at the International Court in The Hague, Netherlands. The news of the lawsuit was delivered by former House’s Bank Century case special committee member Akbar Faizal.
Akbar said that the two Century bosses who are now fugitives sued the Indonesian government regarding the bailout. “They questioned the reason of the Indonesian government, in this case Bank Indonesia, to bail out Bank Century,” said Akbar.
According to Akbar, the law enforcement institution dealing with this case must also know the reason. “As far as Waqouq and Rizvi’s suit is concerned, they are the owners. Even the owners wondered about Century being bailed out, let alone the law enforcement institutions,” said Akbar.
The People’s Conscience Party (Hanura) politician went on that Al Warouq and Rizvi also wondered about the Century bailout. “If Century was bailed out, so where did the Rp6.7 trillion of funds go to?” asked Akbar.
Akbar called on the law enforcements to make the statements as new evidence in the Century case investigation. “We hope that the law enforcement institutions use this new evidence, apart from those given by the Bank Century case special committee,” he said.
House’s Bank Century case special committee planned to hold a session this Wednesday. In the meeting, said Akbar, Al Warouq and Rizvi’s claim will be looked into. He also asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to be firm about Century case. “Don’t be indecisive. KPK must explain whether it can solve the case or not,” he said.
