VIVAnews - The National Police is having a hard time picking up fugitive of a bribery case on Indonesia's athlete dorm project, Muhammad Nazaruddin despite claim that his hideouts have been revealed.
Police expected the International Police make reinforcements in an attempt to capture the former treasurer of Indonesia's Democratic Party. "We're hoping that the Interpol can offer help," said Police Head of Public Relations Division, Ins. Gen. Anton Bahrul Alam, today.
Police claimed Nazaruddin's being in Singapore has hampered the Indonesian authorities to return him home since no extradition treaty between Indonesian and Singapore is ever made.
Meanwhile, the Embassy of Singapore in Jakarta said in a statement earlier this month that, " Mr Nazaruddin is not in Singapore and has not been [there] for some time."
Foreign Affairs Ministry of Singapore argued that the information had been forwarded to the Indonesian government, "long before [Nazaruddin] is named suspect by the Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission on June 31st, 2011."
